Patrick Filan’s christening 23 October 2008 - Shane Filan showed off his beautiful new baby Patrick for the first time today exclusively in the Irish Daily Mirror. The 29 year old shunned a series of big money magazine offers to stick with his favourite newspaper and posed with stunning wife Gillian, daughter Nicole and Patrick at his christening. Until today Shane has kept the baby under wraps since he was born on 15 September. Gillian also 29 was back to her sexy best at the christening in Sligo and Shane looked hot in a designer suit and joined friends and family for the christening. "Gillian looked great and little Patrick was fantastic throughout the service. He took it all in his stride". "I feel like the luckiest man alive to have an adorable son and daughter. Gillian and I have to keep pinching ourselves". Shane and his bandmates have taken a year off to concentrate on their families after a decade at the top. And the singer, who confessed he has never been busier, added: "I thought I would be twiddling my thumbs but think it is pretty hectic. "Having two kids is incredible but a lot of work. It's great that I can be at home more to help Gillian out". One guest said "Gillian looked like a million dollars. She has really got her figure back and was absolutely glowing. Shane and Gillian celebrate their new arrival Westlife star Shane Filan and his wife Gillian celebrated the birth of their first son early yesterday. The couple who already have a daughter, Nicole Filan (3), have decided to name their bouncing new baby Patrick. Both mum and baby are well and believed to be in Sligo General Hospital. “They’re delighted and everything went well” said one insider. The new baby is perfect timing for Shane and Gillian - as the chart-topping band is taking an extended break until next year. Little Nicole was born on 23 July 2005 and has been the apple of the pop-star daddy’s eye ever since. However, the couple were anxious to give her a little sister or brother before she got much older. “It seems the perfect time to add to our family” revealed Shane. He said “It’s going to be hectic with two little ones running around - but we really can’t wait.” “With the band taking a year off I’ll have the chance to get really stuck in,” said the thrilled dad. “I’ll be able to give Gillian all the help she needs,” he added. The singer’s wife Gillian gave birth to a healthy son Patrick at 3.40am yesterday - and Shane told us he was “walking on air” with joy. The Westlife star, 29, told the Irish Daily Mirror that Gillian was rushed to Sligo General Hospital at around midnight after her water suddenly broke. He added: “We rushed to hospital and then just three-and-a- half hour later she gave birth. It was a natural delivery which is what Gillian really wanted and it all went in a flash. “She didn’t even have much pain relief so she really did incredibly well. I am just in awe of her. It was a complete surprise to have a boy - we hadn’t found out the sex in advance.” “I was sure it was going to be a girl but Gillian said it would be a boy. She was right, as always.” “He actually really does look like me around the face - but you can see Gillian in him too.” “I’m very tired but completely overjoyed. I feel so lucky and like I’m walking on air.” Shane took three-year-old daughter Nicole to visit her new baby brother yesterday afternoon. He said: “It’s going to be a great moment to see her meeting her little bro for the first time. She knew there was a baby coming but I don’t think the reality will really hit her now”. Manager Louis Walsh called from Miami while band mate Nicky Byrne, who is on holiday in Portugal, sent lovely flowers. His other band mates Kian Egan and Mark Feehily are expected to visit the baby in the coming days and were among the first on the phone to congratulate the singer. Filans want tot surprise Shane Filan has revealed that he and his wife Gillian, turned down the opportunity to find out the sex of their new baby. The Westlife star has a child on the way in September. "We don’t know what we're having. Shane said. "We don’t mind either way". The crooner also admitted daughter Nicole (2), is ruling the roost at home. He insisted that she is definitely not a daddy's girl because she won’t even call him daddy.
