Regional Drugs Task Force Strategy

June 2005 - The Regional Drugs Task Force Strategy Plan 2005-2008 was officially launched at a series of events in June in Letterkenny, Sligo and Carrick on Shannon. Groups working with people in social or educational context were invited to attend.

It was well attended by a good representation of people across the communities of the North West. Westlife star, Shane Filan, and Packie Bonner, Charlie McGettigan and Tom Brehony backed the new initiative sending out a blunt message on drugs and underage drinking to the region’s young people. The three year Regional Drug strategy, the first in the Northwest, is tailored to the specific needs of counties Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim.
