WESTLIFE HIT THE TOP SPOT

13 November 2006 – Westlife secured their 14th British number one hit on Sunday with a version of Bette Midler’s 1980 ballad ‘The Rose’. The band now ranks equal third with singer Cliff Richard in the list of artists with the most UK number one singles, behind only the beatles and Elvis Presley.

Since their first hit in 1999, Westlife have sold more than 35 million records around the world, according to their record label.
